Select Entry Enrichment Pathway Program

Hoppers Crossing Secondary College fosters the development of high ability students through the College Enrichment Program.

Students in Years 7-9 may gain entry into the Enrichment Program offered alongside the mainstream curriculum. The College also offers a range of opportunities to assist high ability students to further develop academic skills such the High Achievers Preparation Program (HAPP) at Year 8.

SEEP Program

Hoppers Crossing Secondary College believes that all students require specially tailored learning experiences that meet their individual learning needs. Students selected within this program are supported to reach their academic potential.

The program is based on leading educational research and aims to nurture the specific characteristics of gifted and talented learners in order to enhance their learning experience and achieve academic success.

Students are invited to take part in the program based on performance in the scholarship examination as well as evidence of a high academic ability and potential. Recommendations may be sought from primary school teachers.

Higher Achievers Preparation Program (HAPP)

The High Achievers Preparation Program (HAPP), aims to further engage Year 8 students in their learning and prepare them for entry to the Senior School the following year.

Year 8 students who have demonstrated academic excellence and potential are invited to take part in the Higher Achievers Preparation Program. This program runs after school on Wednesdays, where teachers run engaging and interactive workshops in an array of subjects and specialisations.

Students have indicated that involvement in the HAP Program has helped them feel more confident about moving into the following year and many of these students elect to study a VCE unit as part of their Year 10 program.
