Scholarship Exam – Year 7 & 10
Each Year the College runs a Scholarship Examination, for students who have demonstrated significant academic ability.
The Scholarship Exam is run twice per year, in March and May and is open to all current Year 6 and Year 9 students wishing to gain an academic scholarship for entry to the College the following academic year.

No late registrations will be accepted after closing date.
The HAST Examination
The testing is conducted using the Higher Ability Selection Test (HAST) administered by the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER). Learning areas assessed on the examination include; abstract reasoning, mathematical reasoning, reading comprehension and written expression.
The results allow the College to identify highly able students who may then be awarded with an academic scholarship to the value of $1,500 ($500 per year over three years). The scholarships can be used towards school related items. These students are also invited to take part in the Select Entry Enrichment Pathway (SEEP) Program at the College.
Registration is essential. Further information and testing dates will be made available towards the end of each school year.
**Please note – there is no practice material available for this examination.
The scholarship consists of $500 per year for Years 7, 8 and 9 – a total of $1500 over 3 years. Each year, $500 is credited to your school account and can be used for any of the following:
- Jacaranda Ebooks
- Language Perfect Subscription
- English Novel
- Essential Student Learning Items
- Uniform and
- Netbook Provision
Please note, the $500 credit expires within each school year, i.e left over funds are not carried forward to the next school year.
